The tyres must also be officially marked with design and type markings, display ‘PART WORN’ in small capital letters, (4 cm) and must be internally inspected if sold on the rim. Buyers can have peace of mind when purchasing part worn tyres, however, because most of these discount tyres are thoroughly checked before they can be legally sold. In addition, the grooves of the original tread pattern of the tyre must be at least 2mm deep across the full breadth of the tread and around the entire outer circumference of the tyre.
